Atsana and Synergenix to accelerate 2D/3D gaming in 2.5G and 3G phones
Atsana Semiconductor and Synergenix Interactive today announced a strategic partnership to enhance the gaming experience in 2.

Integrated solution optimized for Atsana’s array processor offers enhanced

gaming experience with reduced time to market for handset OEM’s and regional

operators

Atsana Semiconductor, a developer

of power-efficient, programmable multimedia processors for mobile devices, and

Synergenix Interactive,

an enabler in the mobile gaming industry, today announced a strategic partnership

to enhance the gaming experience in 2.5G and 3G mobile phones and to reduce the

time to market in regional territories around the world.

The mophun™ games engine by Synergenix, including OpenGL® ES and JSR

184 compliant modules, is now available on Atsana’s media processors, providing

exceptional gaming performance. By offering a game-centric SDK and APIs, it shortens

the game developer’s time to market and allows for the creation of high

performance, high quality, true binary cross platform portable 2D and 3D games.

The mophun™ platform optimized to run on Atsana’s media processors

provides handset developers with over 150 game titles, offering exceptionally

high performance and quality gaming for their next generation feature phones.

“Combining mophun™ with Atsana’s new J2211 multimedia processor

gives ODMs and OEMs a competitive edge,” said Göran Sander, Business

Area Director – Handsets at Synergenix. “The embedded nature of the

J2211 makes integration simple. Having the mophun™ Run Time Engine (RTE)

execute on Atsana’s massively parallel architecture provides a significant

performance boost that is achieved at extremely low power consumption. Atsana

also has impressive traction in regional markets so the channel opportunity is

strong.”

The J2211 by Atsana is a low power, high performance, fully programmable system-on-a-chip

(SoC) that functions as a companion processor to handset baseband processors.

The J2211 features Atsana’s massively parallel Array Processor as well as

an ARM9 RISC processor, providing a powerful yet fully programmable solution for

video, image audio and graphics processing.

“The global mobile phone industry has widely adopted mophun™ with

gaming applications in dozens of handset models,” said Vivek Chhabra, Head

of Software Partnerships & Alliances at Atsana. “The mophun™ games

engine optimized to run on the J2211 accelerates the mobile gaming experience

by offering high performance, high quality games in real-time without battery

drain. The integrated solution combined with a wide variety of regional content

allows the handset manufacturers & mobile operators to offer a more competitive

gaming experience with a reduced time to market.”
